Paris and London, 2005

A holiday in Paris, with a 2 day trip to London.

We didn't take many photos of "tourist" spots, but one must have an Tour Eiffel shot.
It's taken on our only cloudy day, along with some other monuments.

The National Archive building is normally closed to the public,
but we were very fortunate to pass on the day of a "Fete",
and not only was the building open, but all sorts of period festivities were to be seen.

We discovered this Palais de la Decouverte, which has been made into a Natural History Museum.

The children loved to chase the moving lights in the lobby.

The apartment in which we stayed (Jean-Marc and Pierre's) was located in the Marais
section of Paris. It is right around the corner from the famous square, Place des Voges.

All the buildings surrounding the park have these covered sidewalks,
with very elegant shops.

The Marche aux Pous, is an ENORMOUS flea market. This is early Sunday, before the mobs arrived.

We spent 2 lovely days in the charming suburb of London, Amersham,
staying with Frank and Anne Chesworth, clock clients of David Munro's and delightful hosts.
Their house and gardens were really beautiful.
