Our trip from there by train through the Alps
was one of the most breathtaking journeys I've ever
experienced.

It begins at the train station (behind the bridge) and a ride on
the Vaporetto (river bus)
down the Grand Canal to our hotel.
There are no cars, or even bicycles, in Venice. You walk or take a
boat, everywhere,
and around every corner of the twisted streets, over every bridge, is
a beautiful sight.

There are only three bridges over the Grand Canal.
This "traghetto" is another way to get across.
